ipose

Privacy policy

ipose collects no personal data. Everything it does with your camera and your photos happens on your device.

Effective October 8, 2026

In short: no account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. ipose has no servers, so no photo, face, pose, score or anything else about you is ever sent to us or to anyone else.

Who we are

ipose (“we”) is an app for iPhone and iPad made by an independent developer. This policy covers the ipose app and this website. Questions about it are welcome at our support email.

What we collect

Nothing. ipose doesn’t ask you to sign up, doesn’t include analytics, advertising or tracking code, and doesn’t send anything over the internet except what the App Store needs to sell and restore ipose Pro, which Apple handles.

What ipose uses on your device, and why

Camera

To coach the shot. Frames from the camera are read in memory, on the device, to find the people in them (with Apple’s Vision framework), check the framing and match the pose. They are never stored or sent anywhere. Only the photos you take are kept.

Photos

To save the photos you take to your library, the way the Camera app does (add-only access). On the Photos tab, if you allow it, ipose reads your library to group similar shots and pick the best one. You can share only some photos with it (limited access). The picks, scores and settings it makes are stored in the app on your device. Free up space only deletes photos you confirm, and they go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app.

A photo you want to recreate

When you use Recreate a photo, the photo you pick is read on the device to find its pose and framing, and a copy is kept in the app so you can line the shot up again later. It never leaves your device.

Motion

The phone’s motion sensors show the level and tell the photographer how to tilt the phone. Nothing is recorded.

Scene ideas

Scan scene reads a single camera frame on the device, with Apple’s on-device Foundation Models where Apple Intelligence is available and Vision otherwise, to suggest poses and framings for where you are. The frame isn’t stored or sent anywhere.

Voice

If you turn on the voice coach, directions are spoken with the voices on your device. ipose doesn’t use the microphone.

Notifications

Only if you turn on New moments in Profile: an occasional local note when a new burst of photos is worth picking. It’s made on the device; there is no push server.

Purchases

ipose Pro is sold by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, email address or payment details. The app only learns from the App Store whether Pro is active on your Apple Account.

Crash reports

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. That is controlled by you, through Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy.

This website

This site has no cookies, analytics or tracking. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, under GitHub’s privacy statement.

Children

ipose doesn’t collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Your data, your control

Everything ipose keeps lives on your device. Deleting the app deletes it; photos you saved to your library stay in the Photos app. You can change camera, photo and notification access at any time in the Settings app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If ipose ever starts collecting any data, this page will say so before the app does.
