For a bug, it helps to say which iPhone or iPad you have, its iOS version, and what you were doing. A screenshot or screen recording is even better.

Questions

How does the coach work?

Pick a pose or a framing, open the camera and hand your phone to whoever is taking the photo. They see one short instruction at a time near the bottom of the picture: which lens, how far, how high, level, tilt, where you stand and where the photo ends. The line along the top is what to tell you. When the framing is right and your pose matches, ipose takes the photo, then a few more while you hold it.

Why does it keep asking them to lower the phone?

Most photos of people are taken from eye level and tipped down, which shortens legs and puts too much floor in the picture. Depending on the framing, ipose asks for the phone at chest, waist or even knee height, held upright. Every instruction says how much, and the level on screen shows when it’s straight.

Can I use it without someone to take the photo?

Yes. Flip to the front camera, or prop the phone up and use the timer. Auto capture still waits for the pose and the framing to line up.

Does ipose upload my photos?

No. Pose matching, framing, scene ideas and photo picking all run on your device, and ipose has no servers. No photo, face, pose or score ever leaves your phone. See the privacy policy.

What does ipose need access to?

Camera, to coach the shot. Photos, to save the photos you take (add-only, like the Camera app) and, on the Photos tab, to find your best shots. Limited access works too: ipose only sees the photos you share with it. Notifications only if you turn on New moments in Profile.

How does Photos pick the best shot?

It groups look-alike photos taken close together in the last 30 days, scores each one on focus, light, every face (eyes open, looking at the camera, nothing in front of a face) and framing, and suggests a winner with the reason why. Free up space shows what the picks leave behind, like blinks, duplicates and screenshots. Nothing is deleted until you confirm, and deleted photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app for 30 days.

What do I get with ipose Pro?

ipose is free to use: the framing coach and auto capture, 43 poses, 16 framings, 3 scene ideas a day, one photo to recreate, one shot list and 3 photo picks a day.

ipose Pro unlocks all 178 poses and 38 framings, unlimited scene ideas, photo recreations, shot lists and picks, the best of each scene, picking a whole date range, Free up space, every film look, and picks that learn your taste. It’s a yearly or monthly subscription. The yearly plan starts with a free week for new subscribers, and Family Sharing lets your family use it too.

How do I restore ipose Pro on a new phone?

Open Profile and tap Restore purchases. Pro follows the Apple Account you bought it with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose ipose. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews and you won’t be charged again. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles every payment, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Which devices does ipose work on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 27 or later. Scan scene uses Apple Intelligence on devices that have it, and works without it too.

Can ipose read the directions out loud?

Yes, but it’s off to start with. Turn on Voice coach in Profile, under Directing. With AirPods connected, whoever wears them hears the directions privately, and a stem press takes the photo.

How do I see the intro again?

Open Profile and tap Replay the intro.
